Executive Board for 2016 - American Lutheran Church Women
ALCW is the women’s organization of our church congregation in De Smet. The women’s group is a unit of WELCA sharing a common mission of mobilizing women to act boldly on their faith in Jesus Christ. Together we are committed to growing in faith, affirming our gifts, supporting one another in our callings, and engaging in ministry and action that promotes justice and wholeness for all people.
Every woman who joins our church automatically becomes a member of the ALCW. There are many ways to participate in service to the Lord. Here are just a few:
-
Service Groups: Responsible for serving lunch for funerals and other events as requested
-
Operation Love: Makes quilts for those needing assistance in our community and elsewhere
-
Prayer Shawl Ministry: Makes prayer shawls to share with those facing challenging times in their health/other concerns
-
Meals on Wheels: Volunteers from our church deliver meals as part of a community effort
-
Church Library: ALCW maintains the church library with books for all ages
-
Stewardship Kits: Community Action Officer organizes kits for children overseas and other kits as needed
